Performance

The Dell wireless mouse leverages a high‑resolution optical LED sensor that tracks movements with precision down to the pixel level. This ensures that rapid cursor jumps and fine‑grained adjustments are handled effortlessly, whether you’re editing a photo or scrolling through a long spreadsheet. Paired with the 2.4 GHz wireless band, the mouse maintains a consistent response time, eliminating the lag that can disrupt productivity.

Battery efficiency is another standout feature. Thanks to Dell’s power‑saving technology, the mouse can operate for up to twelve months on a single AA battery. When the battery does run low, the built‑in indicator alerts you, giving ample time to replace it without sudden interruptions.

Design & Build Quality

The WM118’s sleek, matte‑black finish not only looks professional but also resists fingerprints and smudges. Its ambidextrous shape accommodates a variety of grip styles—palm, claw, or fingertip—making it suitable for long working sessions. The mouse’s three buttons are tactile yet quiet, providing satisfying feedback without being noisy in quiet office environments.

Weighing just 140 g, the mouse feels light enough for swift movements yet solid enough to convey confidence in hand. The integrated scroll wheel offers smooth, precise scrolling, and the click resistance is calibrated to reduce finger strain over extended use.

Compatibility

The Dell WM118 is fully compatible with Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11, and most Linux distributions, ensuring a seamless experience across popular operating systems. The USB receiver works with any standard USB‑A port, making it a plug‑and‑play solution for laptops, desktops, and even some tablets with USB‑OTG support.

Because the mouse follows the universal HID (Human Interface Device) standard, it also pairs well with a wide range of third‑party software, from graphic design suites to gaming utilities, without requiring additional drivers.
